This is my retry, I posted a thread in Alfa History with 1 reply. Better luck this time?
I am the proud owner of over 30 yrs of a SS 1600 with modified nose similar to a post in this section ( someone with a son sitting in a TZ2) I have tried to e mail him also.
My car was owned from new by a Dr. Antonio BERTOZZI via tone Clementina 144 Rome with reg Roma 653702 chassis nr 380242 and a twin plug engine nr00231. It is still more or less untouched but repainted in the late seventies ( I forget) and the clutch changed also sometime then. Most of the time the car has been in a garage ( alway above zero) but started and oil changed more or less regularly with a few long lapses ( a couple of years abroad etc) The latest addition is a ss exhaust patterned after the original.

My interest is to find out about the cars early life. I cannot trace Dr bertozzi but he must have liked the car to have kept it till 1970. Also the nose modifications seem done professionally and seem to have been inspired by the Bertone Cangaru soupe. I would also suspect he was part of some club racing activities since the engine is far from normal.

Alfa Storico only confirmed that the car was sold to Bertozzi.

Finally I am not trying to sell the car or scam anybody and would request similar respect from my readers. Any news pictures etc would be very gratefully accepted.

I read your first post but having nothing definitive to say about the history of your car I kept quiet. There are some very knowledgeable BB'ers with respect to Alfa history and with pictures posted you will more likely get the help you desire or at least more educated speculation than I will now offer.

Regarding a modified nose, I will guess that it probably (if raced, almost certainly) suffered an accident in its early life and, as seemed to happen back then, if the accident was bad it was cheaper to have the nose rebuilt from scratch than repaired to original. The car was probably modified to some whim of Dr. Bertozzi, perhaps even based on seeing the car you are refering to from the other thread. The story is something along the lines of the cars that are collectively refered to as SVZ's.
