90 or 91 Alfa SZ?

Kind of odd anyhow, but I was playing project gotham 4 for xbox 360. In the F class, there is a SZ Alfa Romeo, it is a 90 or 91. It says it was limited to around 1500, and was designed by Zagato. I love this car. I could never afford one lol, but does anyone have any info on this car? I have looked, and found nothing.

Alfa Romeo SZ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

based on the 75/milano with a souped up 3 litre with 210 bhp, kevlar parts and more, and some really really "interesting" design , i love il monstro

Thank you very much. I also love the design of that car, and it seems to run pretty good. Chances are I will never see one in person with such low production numbers.

I'm pretty sure they never made it state side but in England and Europe reside the bulk of them. In 2001 a very low mileage RZ sold for $23,000 and an SZ would command less. I'll try to see if there is any pricing is more current.

It's usually opposite. The S.Z. is generally more expensive than the R.Z.

Really? 1500 SZ's and only 278 RZ's produced I would think the spider would always be more expensive.

Thanks guys, for the help teaching me. I would love to own one of these fine cars some day. I just think it is a pure, awesome drivers machine.

And this is what we are talking about

Hello forum members,

Thought a picture would be nice. This is the 'Spettacolo Sportivo 2006' at the Zandvoort Racing Circuit in the Netherlands, organized by the Dutch Alfa Romeo Owners Club (SCARB)
In 2005 during the Spettacolo Sportivo we had 46 different SZ's and RZ's during the weekend with 24 on Saturday and 43 on Sunday. Must have been a record if not for the SPA Italia gathering?

Ciao, Olaf

You'd know why the S.Z. is priced higher than the R.Z. in the market when you drive each and compare...

- That is not my perception at all. RZs seem to be priced just a bit above similar SZs... Though it was a more expensive car to begin with.

One of my favourite Alfas and one I WILL get to own at some point. The price at the moment is around £ 18-20K at dealers.

I would tend to agree, for now the R.Z is slightly more expensive than the S.Z

Tiger is right… although neither was built well the SZ is far superior to the RZ. There was a ‘kind’ of quality control over Zagato from Alfa in the building of the SZ’s but they just let them get on with the RZ themselves. It is also heavier and to my (biased) mind nothing like as much fun to drive.

Prices? Nobody has enough money to buy mine….

For the best info on the SZ please look at:Alfa Romeo SZ ( ES-30 )

I can understand the q factor and tightness/lightness of the SZ but is it more exspensive than the RZ?

It depends very much on condition, but generally more will be asked for an RZ than an SZ of similar mileages. I really don’t know why, the SZ is special, the RZ is not.

Sorry I cannot give it to you Oldschooleuros but if you are ever in the UK you will be more than welcome to take it for a blast. Here is a picture taken from my private track (Goodwood), 5 miles from my home. OK, not really mine, but they always ask me to leave very politely.....

Steve
