Junior Z pics

Hey guys.

Just practising putting pics on here.
Thought i might wake up the mojority of Junior Z owners with the steering wheel on the right side.
Well,it is the right side here in Australia.
Just though maybe more of you Junior Z owners might put some pics on here of your cars,as not many were produced.
I just started driving mine.
Did 1000 kms in 3 days.
Lots different to drive than a 105 coupe or a spider.
More pics to follow soon.

Hi Rafael.
Why does it drive differently.
Hard to answer.
Just seems to handle great, like a go cart.
I have a few 105 coupes and spiders which all go well. The Junior Z just seems to cut through the air at high speeds better than the coupes.
Driving position seems to suit me better in the Z.
Dont get me wrong,I love my other cars as well, especially my 105 coupe that I use in classic rallys, but the Z just seems to be like a boy racer car that handles like a go-cart.
Maybe it has a different wheelbase to the coupes and spiders.
All I can say is,Its a lot of FUN.
Too much fun.
By the way,its a 1300 with a warm 2 litre engine and LSD,extractors,cams etc
As mentioned previously,(in another thread) I have been servicing the car for over 10 years and did a swap with the previous owner and now its mine.
Im enjoying the BB sites, but find you guys could add a lot more sometimes.
Keep posting pics and stories etc.

Robert

Hey JPF.

The requirement now (in Australia) is that it can be registerd LHD.
My car has many previous owners.
It was converted here in australia.many years ago.
I have done many conversions of spiders here(pre 1976 ) with the floor mounted pedal.
I suppose the Momo wheels are liked by some and not by others, but I like them. Thanks

Hey Nicola.

Great pic.
10 cars in one spot.Wow
I think there 6 cars in the whole of Australia, which will probably be never seen in one place.
I know of a 1300 Junior Z that just arrived in Sydney Australia from overseas.
I think its a blue colour LHD.
Anyone know any history of it ?

Hello Jason,

Jack Habits has a register on Alfa Romeo Zagato Register & Shop - Ferrari Shop - F1 Shop in which he collects the information on all Junior Zagato's worldwide.

In total 1117 units of the 1300 Junior Zagato were produced between 1970 and 1972. Some sources say that the early cars were produced in the last months of 1969. I don't know for sure. Two of the 1300 JZ were scrapped during production! Of the 1600JZ 402 units were produced between 1972 and 1974.

We of the Register Junior Zagato Holland (RJZH) collect all the data on the Dutch registered 1300 and 1600 JZ. The RJZH was established in the late 1980's. We are part of the Dutch Alfa Romeo Owners Club (SCARB). We do not have a connection with Jack.

In am pleased to tell you that we have traced more than 90 JZ's in Holland that are in the country at this moment. We register them on chassisnumber, licenseplate and past en present owner. We have another 30 to 35 JZ's that are probably registered twice because of missing links between licenseplates and chassisnumbers. We are constantly updating our register in order to keep track of the cars.

Ciao! Olaf Roeten

Hello Forum members,

These Cromodora wheels are fairly common. But I think they look great!

Quite amazing; a RHD Junior Z! I never seen one before.

I can understand that the technique is rather easy to transfer to the opposite site. But the dashboard? It looks rather good on the photo's though.

Does anyone know more JZ's converted to RHD?

These replica (Alfaholics) 6" GTA rims look very good too on #220.

kind regards,
ZZ_jr.

hey Zagato Olaf.

The wheels on your car look great.
Cromodora wheels look great but are not redily available in Australia.
I know of a few sets,on on a 2L 105 coupe and 1 set on a 1976 Spider.
They are a very sort after wheel here.

Also a nice set of looking wheels on a superb looking Junior Z.
Both Zagato Olaf + ZZ jr cars look stunning.
I have the resorces to repaint my Z,but will wait a few years so I can enjoy it more and not worry about stone chips etc.
Thanks to you both for contributing to this forum.Hopefully more Z owners will do the same.
Just another observation, did the 1300 cars have the fuel lid on the rh side and the 1600 cars on the left?
Anyway, its Sunday morning here. Im going to waste some fuel in my Z and go cruising around the nothern beaches of Sydney.Akuna bay,West head etc.
Keep the pics and stories comming guys.
Chat soon,

Robert
