Hello Mike,
#3060281 (also in Blue) went to Australia! This is the car (see the picture) before it was exported. I believe the present owner is also a member of this forum. While #3060281 was for sale, I used it as a reference because I was restoring #1801112 in the same shop at the same time (spring 2004).
I am the co-registerleader of the 'Register Junior Zagato Holland' and keep track of all the JZ cars in Holland (more than 90 are registered at the moment). At the moment, there is substantial foreign interest in JZ's from Holland. During the last three years, cars were exported to Canada, USA, Germany, Australia and other countries.
Rolf van Hillegondsberg is restoring his own 1300 JZ #1801078 and it is going to look great in it's black livery!
Ciao, Olaf

Pat Garrett - 1750 Motor IN 1800015
Pat,
I'm in the SLOW process (acquring parts stage) of swapping out the motor in my JrZ to a 2L. I want to retain the "stock" air cleaner housing but I've been concerned that the extra height of the block might cause problems; i.e. air cleaner hitting the hood, etc.. This doesn't appear to be an issue with your car. Do/did you have any clearance issues? If so what was your "fix"?

John -
Just last week I deleted the pictures I had of my aircleaner (also a 1750). I had a dickens of a time finding what filter fit, and inquired on the bb, to no avail. From that discussion, I recall Pat's is different than mine. I tried searching for the thread but it looks like all threads prior to April 2007 must have been cleaned/deleted.
You might contact Doug Zaitz in Spokane. He's got a two liter in his Z. He is on the bb, but rarely reads or responds. I'll pm you his contact information if you don't have it.

Couldn't resist to chime in here as well....
I would like to draw some attention to JZ 1600 # 369 which belongs to Geoff McGee from Australia.
The car previously belonged to Terry McDonald from the USA (might be a known person to the American members) and was bought by Geoff from Terry in 1993.
Over the years, Geoff transformed the car to RHD and I must say, it looks to have been executed very well...
There are more photos of the car on Alfa Romeo Zagato Register & Information Site but here is a sample:
Here are my two JZ's:
# 1021
# 488
I'm a bit hesitant to put my email address here (due to it being picked up by spam robots...) but I would like to invite all (former) owners of JZ's (1300 & 1600) to send me a PM with the details of their car if they want it to be included in the register on Alfa Romeo Zagato Register & Information Site

I just realized...
I had neglected to post this shot from the Veloce nel Verde in Portland. "Only" five of us got together, but it was fun comparing and contrasting our individual cars 1600 v. Jr and so forth

Thanks for the pic, Gordy. I am surprised to see five together in the US - But probably not a huge surprise as almost all of them are out West.
Who's the last blue one, the 1600? From the pic it looks almost like mine, including the same aftermarket Campagnolos that I had on my car before I restored the original Junior Z wheels.

That would be Bruce Fogerty's 1600, #112 which I believe (and I could be very wrong) once belonged to Bill Daemke.
A VERY nice example.

Hi Gordy & Mike:
Thanks very much for the compliment, Gordy. Coming from you I appreciate it. Your Jr. Z is pretty damn nice as well, you know.
I did buy it from Bill Daemke in 1999.
There were five nice Jr. Zs there at the 2009 convention, I seem to remember we had six at the convention we held in Portland in 2000. Very likely the record for US Jr. Zs all in one place would have been at the Portland convention in 1986 or 1987, I have the picture on my wall and there are ten in the photo, I counted 'em. Any one remember seeing more Jr. Zs than ten in the US at any one time?
Mike, we emailed and talked on the phone a few times when you were shopping for your Jr. Z, the '72 you ended up buying in Rotterdam and getting into Sports & Exotic is identical to mine, right down to the period correct Campagnolo wheels you had on it in the article.
I just displayed it in a collector car show today in Lake Oswego, Oregon, & it still gets a lot of puzzled looks & head scratching from folks who are pretty knowledgeable about cars. A few hard core car nuts actually know what it is & mention that they've never seen one in person & never expected to run across one in Oregon, of all places. Lots of fun. Driving it is even more fun.
Bruce
