I can only speak of the 1300, which does indeed have the fuel lid on the right hand side.

Thanks to you both for contributing to this forum.Hopefully more Z owners will do the same.

Hello Robert,
The blue 1600 JZ and the yellow 1300 JZ meet a couple of times each year because we owners are are members of the Dutch Alfa Romeo Owners Club (SCARB) and both members of the Register Junior Zagato Holland.
The 1600 JZ has a regular Spider fuel tank with the lid on the left hand side, the 1300 JZ has a Alfa Montreal tank with the lid on the right hand side.
The reason is that the Spider fuel tank couldn't be fitted in the shortened chassis of the 1300 JZ. It is a Spider chassis that was shortened about 10 centimeters behind the rear axle.
The 1600 JZ has a regular Spider chassis. There are a lot of other differences between the two!
Ciao, Olaf

And here they both are
Hello forum members,
This photograph shows both cars from ZZ_jr (second from the front) and Zagato_Olaf (fourth from the front). It was taken during a drive from the Dutch Alfa Romeo Owners Club ( SCARB). All the other cars are also members of the Register Junior Zagato Holland.
Ciao, Olaf

Hey Zagato Olaf.
Always great to see Pictures of Junior Z cars .
Good to see you guys getting together and having fun.
My weekends are full for a while,so mine wont get much use.
This weekend is Australia day weekend, also doubble demerit points if caught being naughty. The Z can stay in the garage.
Next weekend is A1 GP in Sydneys Eastern Creek,so I will be possibly scrutineering them as I did last year.
Possibly the weekend after,I will be able to enjoy mine, and be able to post some pics.
Will be only 1 car (mine) as there is only 3 in Sydney NSW.
The other 2 Sydney cars ,1 is being repainted, and the other 1 is only seen at the N.S.W concourse.
Keep the pictures comming, always great to see.
Robert

So many Alfa's
Hello Jason, Robert and the other forummembers,
Thanks for the compliments concerning the photographs! In the eighties and nineties, a lot of classic Alfa's, Junior Zagato's amongst them, have been imported into Holland from Italy. Our SCARB (Alfaclub) is very active and has about 3800 members with al lot of classic cars in the 101 and 105 series.
Concerning Junior Zagato's, only about 10 to 15 cars from the type 1300 JZ were originally imported during the production time from 1970 to 1972. The rest was imported from 1980 on. 1600 JZ's were never imported originally.
For more pictures; try Netlog
Ciao, Olaf

Hello Robert,
Here is a picture of a blue 1600 JZ that was exported from Holland to Australia about two to three years ago. It has been rallied from 1999 until 2004 by Ruud Strooper before being sold. I didn't take the pictures myself, they were taken by Marc Vorgers.
Ciao, Olaf

Robert,
I found this article in a book I bought when I was downunder and since this is also a black JZ, with right hand drive I was wondering if it's the same car. Probably not because of your chassis number in the 700 series and the text with the photo ".......and on the road in Australia in 1969".
For the roadtest they used two cars, chassis No. 20 in Italy and the black one for the photo's and as there is no test or magazine date in the book we will never know the number of the black car. Or is there someone in Australia who has the original magazines?
But back to the question, if it's not your car in the photo's, where is it now?
Don

Z on lunch run-Robertson
Hi Guys.
had a chance to take the Z for a drive on the weekend down south to the southern highlands of Sydney .Bowral ,Robertson area.
I took a mate -customer,friend with me.
45 various types of cars joined the drive to a lunch spot
i started the drive, which was great, then let my mate drive.
He got the good roads,I got the boring drive home down the motorway.
I enjoy my 105 coupes, spider, race and rally cars etc,but the Z was too much fun.
As I said before,its like a go-cart.
My friend, who is the past president of the AROCA (NSW),said= this car will never be sold and if it is= its MINE.
Just 2 boys having fun.
Robert

Hate the radio aerial, but thats where its always been.
Easier left where it is so the hatch can be opened.
Looks sort of like a remote control car.
Oh well,I dont care.
Was purchased to be driven and enjoyed.

Z on Lunch Run
I was Roberts passenger on the Lunch Run. He handed me the keys at the first break for my first drive of a Z -what a great little car. I have a '66 105 Giulia Sprint Veloce but the Z is a lot sharper, as Rob says a bit like driving a Go Cart. also noticable less wind noise- great car. I have added one more photo.

hey guys.
Key for junior Z.
Could someone show me what the door key looks like (original.)
Mine is a single edged key and looks like its from a safe of locker.
I need to get a new set of keys,so an original looking one would be nice.
The ignition barrel is from an early 105 series car= 1750-series 1.?
Thanks
Robert
