I did see one on a 1600 Junior Z at the NSW annual concours yesterday.
It was a gold one that was very nice, pretty much all original. It even had 5 original wheels with the built in hub section.
I guess ill keep hoping.
The rest of my Junior Z 1300 looks ok-but need this cover as it is very badly warped.
Keep looking for me guys, any help would be appreciated.

Hello Robert,
Those covers are very hard to come by! We have a dutch car in our register that is driving without the top cover (in fact half a dashboard) because is so hard to find. The suggestion to have a replica made seems wise.
Concerning the number of Jnior Zagato's in Holland; at the moment we have more than 90 cars in our Register Junior Zagato Holland. These are registered on licenceplate and/or chassisnumber.
This Register was founded in the 80's and is part of the Dutch Alfa Romeo Owners Club (www.alfaclub.nl).
Ciao!

Rob,
I reckon you are a snowball in hells chance of getting one.I would get some thick cardboard and make a template, then some good quality plastic vinyl and cut to template.A couple of vents super glued in and you are in business, maybe some spray on vinyl dye to make it all uniform.
Thats what I would do,
Regards Geoff.

Hi Geoff.
A 1300 junior Z arrived in Aus a few months ago.
I have asked if I could borrow it to make a mould, but he feels reluctant.
I have a master fibregasser call LLoyd, who you know, who can do it without damaging it.
Ill just wait.
Its not stopping me from driving it.
Thats why I bought it= to drive it.
And drive it I am.
There is a drive day-lunch on this weekend. From Heathcote to Robertson.Hopefully up maquarie pass
You should join in and bring your Junior Z.
Robert

Thanks Rob,We are going on hols on Sat.I will give you a call when I get back.BTW that 1300 JZ is Zagato Blue I reckon! It is a pain in the butt to remove the Dash. When you are ready to do it maybe you will have to put your car to oneside and get Lloyd to reconstruct from your damaged one.One side of your cover is not warped so mirror imaging would work.I believe the cover is symmetrical.
Regards Geoff.

Robert,
I can understand that someone would be very reluctant to remove the front part of the dash because to do so you have to remove the windshield to have access to it.
Let me try to explain with these drawings, in this dash are the ventilation "grilles" no.062 these are held in place with a steel no. 278 and the air duct no.266. If I remember correctly you place the steel ring no 278 in the dash, then you mount no.266 under the dash cover and click in place with the three tabs, followed by a rubber band that sits on the tabs so it all stays in place. Next you take the vent grille and place it in the steel ring and lock it in place with a steel spring that you clip under the steel ring and feed through some holes in the air duct.
This operation next to impossible to do when the dash is in the car and there is not enough clearance to slide this assembly in place between the dash and windshield, just try and reach the vents to rotate them and you see what I mean.
This is operation has to be done before you place the windshield in the car.
And if memory serves me right, there are also several very small screws that hold the cover in place.
And yes, when you take it all apart you will find that the rubber band has disintegrated, the boots no.258 is all broken up and the steel parts are rusty……..
If you look at old photo's of the factory you can see that these cars had half the dash in place when the windshield was put in.
But coming back to your warped dash, if I would need this part, I think I would take some aluminium sheet and cut and bend it in shape. The shape isn't that complicated only where the vent grill sits you find the challenges. Next cover it with some thin black leather to get the surface structure you need and your done.
When I bought my car I was sort of lucky, the interior was missing, but the dash was in place. I had to make the other pieces.
Good luck with your dash and I'll be waiting for the photos.
Don
