The complete SVZ file
Hi!
For a few years I am working on chassis registers of some limited Alfa Romeo production cars. I collect magazines and books and with help of the www (and Alfabb of course) I have listed some thousand events and photos regarding the Giulietta SVA (Alleggerita), SVZ, SZ, Giulia TI Super, TZ, GTA, GTAJ, GTAm and the Tipo 33. I will try now to write down something about the SVZ but of course it will never be complete. As you see there are many open questions left, not all the cars can be confirmed and I hope I did not make too many mistakes. Please feel free to add information, tell me what is wrong or simply enjoy the photos (I hope there are no copyrights with them, most of them came from the www or from the Alfa Romeo archives). And … sorry for my bad english
Martin
So let's begin

Svz #02028
SVA #02028 was originally owned by Giorgio Becucci, Bologna (I) and raced at the 1956 Mille Miglia. According to Auto Motor Klassiek magazine 1/1994 it was rebuilt to SVZ and came to Germany to be raced by Friedhelm Vogt. There are no german race results confirming that but one Ron J. Vogt raced possibly a SVZ in 1959 at the Nürburgring and in a few races more. In 1994 owner was Rinus Belt (NL)

Svz #02308
SVA #02308 was the first 1958 type SVZ. Sergio “Pegaso” Bettoja raced it every weekend in early 1958 but possibly destroyed it in the Targa Florio. Next event he raced a SVZ was the 1959 Targa Florio, but there is no photo of the car since it did not finish the race. In 1960 he did some races but it is difficult to identify a car since the sources does not specify any type. Some times it is written SVZ, other time SS (must be his #0029) or even SZ (#0002?).

SVA #02348: According from an english magazine this car was rebodied to SVZ in 1958. Theo Geither from Muenchen (D) raced it 1959/1960. He sold it in 1961, 1963 Fritz Esser (D) tried to sell it again. No information from then on. In 1983 it was found by Uli Kiam (D), who restored it and in 1997 he resold it to UK, owned by Alfabb-member GTA2 (GB)

Svz #04069
#04069 was the third SVA rebodied by Zagato in early 1957. Egidio Gorza raced it in 1957. 1958/1959 it was sold to Mario Bongiasca, Milano (I), who had the front modified. Bongiasca entered some events in 1959/1960 but there is no photograph for confirmation. In 1962 Herbert Wrobel from Munich (D) raced and tried to sell it. Said to be raced in Germany the following years, there was no information up to 1991, when it came to Auction at Genève (CH) and 1992 at Tokyo (J); was sold to Japan

Svz #04249
#04249 was rebodied by Zagato in 1959 according to sources, but owner Dario Sepe probably raced a few times in 1958 with a SVZ. He sold it in 1960 to an italian diplomate who took it to Bombay (IND). Photographed in the 1989 Veloce-book, it is still in India but needs complete restoration
