This already fascinating - SVZ - thread has now spawned another hugely interesting one - but please let it now stand alone - none of us want to lose any contributions.

You are right. For penance, may I add a couple clippings that I don't remember seeing here.
First, here is the Lauga / Hebert Alfa at the end of the Mulsanne...

Thanks Carter
Great fotos - having run the emasculated retro Coupe des Alpes this year - I have nothing but respect for what Consten did on those unprotected gravel passes at real speeds, amazing stuff!

Here are my two favorites..the Scaglietti bodied car, and the Bertone bodied car with the modified nose. As far as I am aware, neither still exists..

Dear friends is always a pleasure to read.
I made a list of Alfa Romeo which took part in the various editions of 24 Hours of Le Mans. As you know I collect on the Alfas 1/43 scale and I'm interested in being able to collect all those who participated in this famous race where in the past, the Alfa prevailed for several years. From the lists that are found on the Internet, in the edition of 1960 appears next to the famous spider Conrero #40
which is produced by ALM in scale 1/43, a Giulietta SZ #63 wizard
Giorgio Ubezzi and José Rosinski. Unfortunately did not finish the race.
This brings me to the question, this car is not a SVZ but SZ? If
was so likely in this debate if they have not spoken, but there
kindly ask if in AlfaBB or elsewhere there is a picture of this SZ #63.
Thank you very much.
OK, I saw the first page, and here there's one foto of SVZ #63. Sorry.

Hi Carter, Andrea and others
Just what I wanted to avoid has maybe happened - a sudden drying up of racing 1900 posts - where has this thread disappeared to?
My interest has always been the smaller engined post war Alfas but your fotos/info were so evocative that I`ve become hooked - where`s my fix, please?

Dear friends are still here to disturb you with my research on colors of these SVZ that by now have taken the greater interest of all other models in my collection.
We talk about the SVZ # 01849 TO205398 (Post 4), which led to victory at the Ada Pace Trieste-Opicina # 118. The car was red, ok, but the strip in that characterized the middle of the hood, with a small Italian flag on the Scudetto, color was it? The same strip also appears on the car involved in the Targa Florio 1958 # 14.
Place the photo of scale model 1 / 43 Model IV, 23-F.
Thank you in advance, but I believe that follow other questions on other models.

The picture on page 24 (post 352) shows a black and white rendering that suggests the strip to be yellow or ochre, or even pale blue.

I've found a new picture (to me) of that SVZ at Nürburgring.

Orange SVZ??
Hi
Just a quick note. A friend sent me this picture. His uncle took it somewhere in Europe in 1957. Does anyone know which car this is?

SVZ with Geneve license plate
Thanks Keith,
Don't know which car yet. The number of possibilities is very limited ... among the known chassis numbers anyway. This photo may show enough detail to make a determination?
The same car appears in a photo in the magazine Moteurs-Courses 1//58 (page 44) in its coverage of the Coupes du Salon races at Montlhery 6 October 1957 where J. P. Schild was 1st in the GT1300 category.
Thanks again.

Orange SVZ
Hi again,
My friend noted that there is evidence of a rally plaque in the dust on the LF nose. The grill is taped over, also, probably to increase the water temp. Apparently it had recently finished a rally and the photo was taken during a colder part of the year. Somewhere we have an old canvas grill shield that was used for the same purpose. I'll try to find it for a picture.

I don' know how it works in Switzerland, but in March '57 during "Lyon-Charbonnieres" the same license plate "GE 18393" was on a "regular" Sprint.
Same car before the rebuilt?
Also notice the tracks of a race# on Paugnut's picture (#8 ???)
