thanks

Redmerlin,

I've come back to these pics several times, thanks for posting them. Just to add some info. The maroon 1900 is a cabriolet. Pininfarina bodied the convertible, Stabilimenti Farina bodied the cabriolet (with a "few" open cars by other coach builders). That car is the only one of 5 know to exist and the only one that has undergone a proper restoration (that I know of). I have the only one of those that exists outside of Italy. Again, thanks, Dan

Hello Redmerlin,

Thanks for posting these interesting well taken pictures. Could you post a picture of the 1975 Alfasud prototype? So far only a picture of the note in the car. The first car is a 1750GT prototype by Italdesign so not an Alfasud.

Cheers

Hello Redmerlin,

If you are pointing towards the brown coloured Alfasud Sprint on the picture you posted that would fit timing wise. The introduction on the market for the Alfasud Sprint was in 1976 so a prototype from 1975 would be logical timing wise.

Should you be able to find a picture and willing to share it on the board that would be appreciated.

Have a good weekend

There's a photo of this Alfasud Sprint prototype on an AROC website: Alfa Romeo Owners Club, Kent and East Sussex Section. 2nd row, 2nd photo. (they've protected their photos and I don't want to mess with their copyrights, so I won't post it here)

Strange, if the paper on the first picture belongs to the silver Alfasud sprint (picture 2) it brings some question marks to me. It could be a prototype from 1975, but the Sprint itself was not introduced in 1975 but in 1976.

True, but if it's really a prototype, as the leaflet states, and not just some special or modified version, it could very well be constructed one year prior to the official introduction. After all the 'normal' Sud already existed in 1975 for a couple of years, so it couldn't be the prototype of that version.
