sleepy creek
hi all - is there anyone out there?!! as a 'newbie' (grief! - bit 1934 aint it!), i joined up all very excited to be 'one of the guys' (hell, this is beginning to sound like the opening lines of 'american graffiti'), looking forward to learning all sorts and swapping yarns (now i'm sure i'm in a time warp with john wayne rather than tim curry!). and whats there - a swarm of noisy TZ's (always did buzz around incessantly - friend of mine has just sold a TZ2, though i always preferreed his GTA) - and almost silence from the ss's and GTC's!!! does yours never go wrong? hmm, ok, heres a start from me - anyone got a pair of ss rear fender(bumper) reflectors?

hooray - and thanks for the welcome! ok, the car for which i need the reflectors is a '61 giulietta ss. its a very long story (arent they all, but this one is a little different) but things go well though there is a lot to do before the first AROC (UK) meet we will take it to, and for now my only real worry is chrome related plus the reflectors, which i hope someone may have. have hopefully attached photos of this and, maybe later if anyone likes, can upload the fotos of a giulia ss (rhd) and GTC (rhd) which i (and the rest of the family) enjoy together. i have been talked into joining alfabb and am looking forward to the experience. i have been involved with 'old cars' for quite some while, and the ability to chat about/get help electronically is intriguing, so.......
hope you can help, and thanks again for the reply!

thanks - but the foto is a snap so the 'real' colour on say the rear 3/4 pic is on the left of the pic - ie the darker red rather than the mauvey! honestly have no idea as to actual paint ref. as i was lucky enought to find it in very good 'paint' state and have really been concentrating on mechanicals and now chrome. the paint job has been very well done, and once the chrome is back and the inside has been cleaned (notice film of dust!!!) it should be pretty good. i have cars to use - ie each does about 10k miles a year. not too interested in concours.
are you going to milan? i had expected a 'forum' on 'lets all meet at restaurant 'x' on the 18th june!! all seems calm on that idea!!

Jacks appear frequently on eBay.

For the rare time that a jack will be used it is more practical to carry a modern scissors jack.
The original jack tends to lean into the body panel when used, and the rubber button on it seems inadequate.
I made a plastic piece with some foam on it to protect the paint, but gave up and went modern.

Glyn,
The Giulietta Register have an 11 day event to Milan...I am surprised that you haven't see it advertised!
