6C 1750 on Gooding Scottsdale Auction

There is a Zagato bodied 6C 1750 for auction (Lot 70) at the Gooding Scottsdale auction on January 19.
Has anyone on the Alfa BB any information on this car? In particular its history prior to its importation in the US in the late 50's.
Any info will be greatly appreciated

Thanks, I've been there. I was wondering if anyone has seen the car or knows a little more of its history. Thanks anyway

There does not seem to be any history on this car. I could be wrong but I think it was offered at two auctions so far with no sale. I do know of one available that has quite a great racing history from a private collection.

Wow. So how much will a 1st or 2nd series Testa Fissa bring, if and when one comes up for sale

There seem to be a lot of similarities to the heady days of 1989. Now let's see what sort of package Mr. Bernanke comes up with. It will be needed.Mr

If the Goodings price means that a good original supercharged 6c is valued by the market at over a million US then this is bad news for all enthusiasts .'Normal' people mostly cant afford a million dollar toy, no matter how great their passion. If they have been lucky enough to have purchased one more cheaply in the past, then it is equally difficult to justify keeping it when confronted with school fees, mortgage payments etc.I,for one, resent investors hijacking my hobby and pricing me out.If genuine enthusiasts are driving the prices then this is slightly more palatable; at least they will enjoy what we have lost. The thought however of some chinless showpony crashing the gears of his 6c on the Mille Miglia whilst looking for the cruise control irritates me intensely.Roll on the inevitable crash so that we can have our hobby back.
