Yes, very French indeed. Mirrors were often dealer-added or aftermarket pieces on European cars well through the 60's so I suspect this is the case.
The details on the car are fantastic. I would only wish for a photo of the car alongside a Spider or GTV to give it a sense of proportion. I suspect it is smaller than it's lines suggest. Aurelias are similarly deceptive in size until you see them in the flesh; they are actually quite sporting.
Well bought car at this price.

I agree. After seeing the car, I feel it wasn't represented as it should have been. If they would have taken better pictures and put a better description, there would have been more action. Interesting thing...nobdy called to go see the car. Dirk was the only person who did.

There is one on the Italian eBay site right now. Looks very nice, but i think the seats were redone in some incorrect material. http://cgi.ebay.it/ALFA-ROMEO-6C-250...QQcmdZViewItem

Note the paint color change from the wheels/engine compartment and the body/dashboard. Note also, the incorrect side indicators. Handsome car, nonetheless.

Carrera Panamericana Freccia D'oro
Luc, as far as I know there are 2 Carrera Panamericana Freccia d'Oros here in Mexico (sold here after the race), or so the owners claim. I could put you in contact with one or possibly both owners if interested.

Funny............Too many stories, too many people chasing this car, not enough facts! Too much wanted for the car.

In the meantime I have found the 50 Freccia's that I was looking for (and even more ....!) and these will be part of my project (a book about the Freccia d'Oro).
Probably someone can help me in my ongoing research....
1. At Coys in London there was an auction (April 30th 2002) where a Freccia d'Oro was sold for £20.000 (hammer price - lot 50). It had chassis number 916 015 and license plate VPG 10. Somebody has some more info (especially pictures) from this car ? The people from Coys unfortunately lost part of their archives during a fire....
2. Is there anyone who can help me in finding Dean Trezos ?!
many thanks...

The original Godfather Freccia was in Amsterdam a few years ago when I visited. It was owned by a collector represented by Marcel Roks. Maybe he can help you find the car. The collector was selling a beautiful 1900 Supergioello.
