Hello. I'm new to the forum but the ex-owner of several Alfas. The itch is back and I'm in search of a new (old) Alfa. I'm considering importing a Giulia from Europe into the US. I read the regulations at the CBP web site but I'm hang up on "proof of ownership". I'm trying to understand what is acceptable to CBP. I assume the I will have the foreign title signed over to me and a Bill of Sale in English. Are these two acceptable as proof of ownership? I would like the hear from someone who has gone though this before. Thank you in a advance. Anthony
I posted the same question on the CBP website and to my surprise, I received an answer pretty quickly. Basically they said to have the original title of the car, obviously in the native language, or a notarized duplicate and a bill of of sale in English. They also mentioned that I should reach out to the port of (expected) entry if I have additional questions. It sounds pretty simple to me. Hopefully I'll be an Alfa owner again soon.
