Alfa Romeo GTA and Peter Giddings

It has Autodelta suspension modifications (no sliding block) and was owned at one time by Peter Giddings before it came back to Europe around 1989/90. In Europe it has got historic racing history after Facetti went over the car. According to the Registro AR the car possibly spent some time at Autodelta before being dispatched to the USA. It is now in LHD configuration.
I am almost convinced that no RHD racing GTA came through Peter Giddings hands during the late 1980's or I would have probably known about it. It is possible that he bought and sold such a car as an investment without ever actually using it or having it at his home ... which is where I worked on many of his other vintage racing cars for several years during that time. These cars included a LHD GTA (613976) that was born May 1967 as a red "Stradale". This car had come from Nino Epifani who (I think) had also raced it in vintage events a time or two? It was a nicely restored and prepared car that needed very little attention during the relatively short time that Peter vintage-raced it. It was sold to Japan with shipping happening during November of 1989. There was a spare engine as well, number 00502/A *19489*, ex-Don Orosco, reputedly from a GTA that had been rolled in 1966. I have a vague idea that it was sold in a separate deal. I could guess as to how Peter's name might be associated with 752540 ... but they would be guesses. You should simply ask him.

GTA 752540 Winne, Cortes, Mazzota, Italy

I have been doing some investigation regarding the history of 752540 and can say with some confidence that after the picture above at Grand Prix Classics it was sold to Italy. I have seen a bill of sale.

I have spoken with a number of people connected to 752540 and Bill Winne to determine the following linage. Also determined that Bill Winne is now deceased (2011).

There is no finding of Peter Giddings ownership of 752540 but there is a picture of Mazzota GTA 752540 #391 and Giddings GTA 613976 #74 both on GTAs on the track at Riverside 1989, attached.

Backwards from Italy 1992

1992 Grand Prix Classics
1980's (late) Joey Mazzotta, Vintage Racer #391
1980's Grand Prix Classics
1981 Al Cortes ( bought from Alfa Owner Ad, see below)
1978 Bill Winne (PA vehicle Registration, Serial number, William Winne transfer to Al Cortes)
? from 1970's Dealer In PA? not yet confirmed
1966 Trans Am GTA, (my educated guess, not yet confirmed)
1966, Mar 2- sold to AR Inc. Newark, USA; Ref AR Doc Ctr.
1965, July 22- Date of manufacture; Ref AR Doc Ctr.

I would like to find some pictures of Al Cortes racing on RHD GTA 752540 and any pictures during Winne's ownership.

Same GTA 752540 also discussed here
