My new bella! (1600 GTJ)

Gday fellas,
After spending almost 2 years searching high and low and learning plenty along the way I've finally found the bella I'd been searching for.

She's a 1974 GT 1600 Junior.

It's a two owner car that i purchased from a fellow italian car enthusiast recommended through a friend (always the best) who was faced with the dilemma of giving her a new paintjob and fixing some rust issues or selling her on to a fellow enthusiast who would give her the love she deserves!

The car's had a full engine rebuild less than 5k miles ago and sings along very nicely.

The not so nice is the rust that has started to appear after being left outside for the past year due to a lack of space.
It seems to me that its only superficial apart from a nasty patch under the drivers side passenger footwell.
Jack mounts, sills, spare wheel well, cross members all look tip top.

In any case the paint needs to come off asap to stop that cancerous infection from inflicting more damage!

I'll start up and ongoing thread in the restoration subforum to keep you all posted on the progress. Wish me luck!
Regards
Max

Beautiful looking car! What brand and size are the tyres, they look almost vintage?

Theyre 14" 'performance' branded mini lites. Well spottes with the tyres, theyre old Toyo Proxes 205 wide but iam unsure of the sidewall height.

The PO put the new wheels and tyres on when he purchased it 10 years ago so theyre ten years young.
Still plenty of tread but the rubber is looking quite fatigued now.

Check out blacklotus's 1300 GTJ. He's got 15" mini's and they look delicious.
I think i'll move up to a set of 15's for the ease of tyre choice and ofcourse the look once I've sorted the body and suspension.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Congrats! Nice car. I just love that color - suits the GTV perfectly. Was thinking about repainting mine the same, but I'm gonna stick with the original blue (both these colors suit fine my tan interior). I'm not a huge fan of those wheels but that's a subjective matter - your car remains a gorgeous example!
