'69 GTV - replace the headlight?

Hi All,

I should probably know this, but how do you actually replace the headlight?

Just pull the outer ring off (is it screwed in or otherwise fastened?), loosen the screws, remove the whole headlight, unplug the light, then repeat these steps in reverse?

Should I replace both?
What are people using these days?
