Conrero Sprint GTV in Germany

Saw this Conrero-tuned GTV during one of my random web wanderings this evening. I would guess that this is not a 'period' conversion but an interesting curiosity nonetheless. I'm trying to figure out what's been done to the upper front suspension arm, can anyone else see what I mean?

No financial blah blah etc ...

Alex:

Obviously the upper arm is fabricated, and not factory. My guess would be that this was done to position the ball joint that attaches to the top of the spindle more toward the rear. The advantage is to allow more caster to be set. A problem with adjustable upper arms that are based on stock parts is that their lock nuts increase the effective diameter of the tube in the vicinity of the slot. This results in interfere when the caster is set for more than a degree or so.

This is all just conjecture, however.
