Front fresh air vent removal???

I would like to replace broken fresh air vent, the round ones located on the right and left side of the dash. Does the complete dash have to be removed to do this? Or is there a simpler way to remove and install those vent outlets? Thanks.

They just pull straight out. Since yours is already broken, just start tugging on it and the whole assembly will pop right out. The replacement vent will just push in, but push on the outside edge of the vent to avoid breaking off the plastic center bits.

Sorry for not posting model. I am talking about my '73 GTV. The replacement part that I have has three "ears" on it so it looks like it is mounted with hardware. To clearify it more, I am referring to the air vents that are facing the driver and passenger not the ones on the top of the dash directing air to the front windshield. Thanks

I would be interested to see a picture (sideways on) of the replacement vent, showing its 'ears'?
