regarding caliper rebuilding, you might want to check the yellow pages and see if you can find a rebuilder in the area. I'm in a medium-sized city, and we have a shop which can rebuild just about any sort of hydraulic cylinder found on a car or truck. I've brought them several sets of Alfa calipers, and paid ~$40/per. Media blasted, new hardware, seals, etc., and they work great.

And, you can even check some other sources you might not expect:
While we find your parts, please enter your ZIP Code at PartsAmerica.com

Just an example, and you may have to bounce around checking different years for fronts/rears. as their listings aren't always complete. These ATE parts were used on quite a few Euro cars (Volvo, Porsche, VW, etc.), so they're really not hard to find with a little research.

Yes, you would want to pump the grease in via the inlet side. You may be able to thread a zirk fitting in where the line attaches. Bleeder screws should be available, and they should thread out. Let them soak with PB Blaster etc. if they are frozen - don't want to shear them off. If you media blast, do so ahead of time, and still wash like nobody's business before assembly. You might want to try a wire wheel first.

Bob has some good suggestions on finding a local break/hydraulic specialist. Worth looking into.

I'll clean up the calipers with a wire wheel and see where that leaves me; I'm worried about unwittingly leaving media in the cylinders.

Interesting website there, Bob, truly unexpected, and will bookmark it for future use - they don't have the calipers for my car.
