'74 GTV AC Heater Valve Replacement

Couldn't find a previous thread on this topic so here goes...

Replacing the heater valve in a '74 GTV (originally an AC car) and from doing some research I understand they no longer make the (AC) heater valve replacements.

The (non-AC) heater valves are easy to come by but they are of a slightly different config.

I would like to know if anyone has adapted this version to an (AC) car and if so...are there any special considerations with the swap?
