Blaupunk Frankfurt in 1750 mkII

After seeing a few threads recently on this subject, I thought I'd post a couple of pics I took yesterday of a Blaupunkt Frankfurt I've installed in my car. It came from Germany and has an Ipod adaptor which I have plumbed into the ashtray - see photo. The extra hole is the first one I made in the wrong place. Filling it up is on my list of things to do.

I really like the chrome finish, and think it fits in well with the wood and chrome trims on the 1750 dash.

Nice job! How did you wire in the iPod adaptor? Where can I find one of those radios?

yeah - measure twice cut once!

It is the Eiffel tower, I'm in Paris at the moment. The radio and ipod adaptor came from Das originale Autoradio für Klassiker und Oldtimer

It was for around 200 euros all in, very helpful and good service. The p/o had a modern radio in the glove box, but i got fed up with reaching across each time to change the channel, and wanted to use the glove box. Plus, I think that a nice radio adds something to the car.

Curious- can you receive anything on the LW or SW bands? If so, what's playing?

'Long Wave' band plan:

Euro-African Medium Wave Guide - Online edition - Longwave

BBC radio 4 on 198 kHz broadcasts with no less than 500kW ... audible throughout a good portion of NW Europe, even during the daytime.

Normally this type car radios, had a DIN input socket behind ready for...iPoD. Just kidding. However , the DIN socket exists for further radio's connections . So , it is easy to connect any new modern source device like iPods. If this DIN socket doesn't exists you might have some technical skills to do the job.
