Talking about small countries....that's why you have to use your brakes in Holland: D.
In the eighties we went on a 4 week trip to Greece in our former 2 liter Bertone, to the far south-eastern part. During the approx. 6.200 miles only some coolant and some oil was needed.

I'd guess mine would be fine. It burns a little oil here and there but has been perfect since I got it back on the road (aside from some strange brake related issues here and there.) I've even raced it once. Currently I'd need to put some real tires on it as the shaved, heat-cycled out V700 Victorracers are getting a little thin. They are a blast on the street however.

I bought mine, cleaned the carbs out and then drove it 2600km home
Clutch started slipping with 1000km to go, and about 100km after I got home the brake booster packed it in...
Now with the maintenance/upgrades I've done i'd comfortably drive it there and back again...

I bought a $1000 Berlina in Phoenix and drove it 1200 miles home across the uninhabited desert to NorCal without incident. Once I got home, it blew its head gasket, then the brake MC reservoir grommets started leaking fluid, but at least it had the decency to wait til I got to my garage to do so.

I guess that counts...

In 6 weeks I am:

- Taking the ferry from Dublin (Ireland) to Wales
- Driving to Dover (UK)
- Taking ferry from Dover to Calais (France)
- Driving to Dusseldorf (Germany)
- Putting the car on an AutoTrain to Verona (Italy)
- Spending time in Venice and Lake Garda and taking in a trip up Stelvio
- then doing it all in reverse

I am very worried about my 1600 making it. That is why I chose to use the autotrain for the bulk of the journey.

I am also fitting an electric fan with manual override, just in case.

I alos have taken out 5* EU breakdown cover. Hopefully if anything happens I can just ring and have the car shipped home and a hire car given to me.

Fingers crossed..............!!!!

A fun story....true....
Drove my 74 GTV from Pittsburgh to Santa Fe in 3 days, and was able to do most of it on 2 lane highway. Stopped in a tiny farm town in Kansas, a 60's donut shop with a plump middleaged waitress named Vona, hair up and pink uniform, she listened in on a payphone call I made to a friend in NYC. When he asked where I was, I didn't know the name of the town, so told him, Sphincter, Kansas....We both laughed until I saw Vona. She shook her head, a bit angry, and when I hung up, she told me that there was NO SUCH town. We made up when I let her beep my air horns on the GTV before leaving the donut store, and she even warned me that her brother was the Po-lease in town.. and that he hid behind the welcome sign on the west end of town...About 100 miles west of the town, I stopped to watch a huge thunderhead rolling straight down the middle of the highway I was on.. Not another car for miles.. Drove thru the middle of it, no hail, but a wall of water... and found out how unwatertight the right window was. I drove on thru the expansive and barren NE corner of NM and got home by 2 am. Car ran like a sewing machine.. *** was sore for two days... a polaroid and a digi shot...

It's a crap shoot. When I bought the GTV in '92 I drove it from Arcata CA (north coast of CA) to my home in MN. Nearly all on two lanes including going up and over Independance Pass outside of Aspen. The only mishap was a blown muffler and a hood release cable.

The GTV's been completely rebuilt now and I would take the car across the country (USA) in a heart beat. I would not however count on nothing breaking. It's a maybe, maybe not kind of thing as far as what might or might not break.
