Dash cap mono speaker
This is the mono speaker which was fitted to my Sprint GT as a dealer option in 1965. As far as I can tell, this is not an English aftermarket item but a correct factory part. The grille is made from stamped metal and the surround is plastic; both are coloured copper-bronze.
I did have a photo of the speaker against a 6" ruler for scale, but this appears to have vanished from the memory chip in my camera, so the next time I visit my car I'll take dimensions.
I should imagine that a similar metal mesh would be available from vintage radio/gramophone suppliers and restorers, but the surround would need to be fabricated. Not impossible, but awkward. Hope this helps, and my apologies to those of you who've asked for these photos before!
