Adhesive for trunk emblem

Does anyone have suggestions for adhering the alfa emblem to the trunk? The readily available products I've found at parts stores require that the trim parts be flush to the surface, but I think I need something more goopy as much of the paint is chipped in the area, and the back of the emblem isn't totally flat, either.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hang on I've bookmarked a thread on this, I have to replace the boot badge on my 94 and still have to get it off. I'm not sure if it's the same for your alfa but it may be helpful.

I used a good quality clear silicone on the rear emblems (rear round badge and model badge) on my gtv6 - they are still firmly on after 7 years.

3M windshield adhesive

My old emblem was mounted with glue-in windshield adhesive. That stuff will stick to anything, will fill in gaps, and won't come off even if you want it too.

I put my new badge on with 3M "Plastic trim and emblem adhesive", which seems like a logical choice... but it's too thin, doesn't fill in the gap very well, and took forever to set. I had to goop on a lot of it just to fill in the void under the emblem, and this caused it to ooze out around the edges. It took a day or so to set, with a 10-lb weight on it to hold it in place, and I'm not confident it'll stay on.

I'll use the windshield adhesive next time.

George

3M adhesive is a good product except it will remove paint on a respray. I have had good success with 3M double sided trim foam tape.
