Dash Panel light clips

Is there a suitable replacement for those curved clips that keep the light lenses tight against the dash? The new veneer I put in place is a bit thicker than the original and these clips do not get enough "bite" onto the housing. I thought about o-rings, but these just want to roll off. I guess worse case would be a drop or two of glue. The dash is still out of the car. Thanks

I have the same problem in my 71 GTV. I think part of the problem is that the wire has become stiff with age, and pulls the lampholder at an angle, and causes the lamp to pop out of the dash. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking that a collar with a set screw that would slide over the lampholder and snug up to the back of the dash, would solve the problem. Kind of like the stops that attach to a drill bit to control the depth of a drilled hole.
