Hi all.

Can someone tell me where I can go to track my car's history using it's VIN number?

Thank you

You can send an email to archiviostorico@alfaromeo.com . The response should include build and sale dates, to whom the vehicle was first sold and the original interior/exterior colors. However, tracking the history from the second owner to present will be far more difficult.

Jim,
Do you know at what stage of the building process the VIN number was actually stamped into the body metal? I would suspect that it happened fairly early in the assembly process and wondered how much variation there might have been between assigning/stamping the VIN and actual completion of car assembly. This might explain why some series 1 1750 gtv's weren't actually shipped and sold in the USA until 1970.
John

Great question. I was going to ask the same thing.

I have a '69 that was manufactured in March 1970.

I don't know about the US, but in Canada, the New car dealer seemed to have some latitude on what model year went on the registration. I bought my first GTV, registered as a 1969 GTV in early February of 1969. The info from Alfa was:

"According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 1357569 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce (105.44), manufactured on the 19th July 1968 and sold on the 5th September 1968 to Alfa Romeo from Toronto, Canada.
The body colour is "ocra" yellow (AR 109), with black skai interiors."
