Color combination - need an advice

First hello to everyone. I'm a new member from Croatia (almost Europe ).

I was unable to find any info regarding my problem on the net and some searches through the forum showed no results (at leas I was unable to find them, maybe by my mistake).

I'm restoring a GT Junior 1300 "Scalino" from '69.

I bought the car with the unoriginal GT2000 interior and in "Red Farina" color. After checking by the VIN number I have found that the original car color is "Dark Green (Light)". Now, since I'm also restoring a "Green Pine" Super Giulia I want to paint my Junior in "Alfa Red" color that was an option at the time but, I have a problem trying to understand what interior color combinations were available for cars with this color. I don't want to do a mistake and make a color combination that was unavailable at the time.

I want to ask if someone can help me solving this problem or show me where can I find this information? What interior colors were available for the '69 GTJs painted in "Red Alfa color" (AR-130, AR-210, AR-303, AR-501, AR-555)?

Best regards,

P.S.

Sorry for the grammatical errors ...

I think black! There are some colour charts published on the back of the brochures for the car which appear from time to time. Do a search for your car on the BB and see what you find. Alternatively, you are having your own ideas on colour...do the same with the interior!

Thank you for your answer.
I must say that I also thought that black could be the right one. I saw some cars with cream interior on this forum but I don't know if that's original.
As for me, originality comes always first. Since I'm going against this by not repainting the car in her true color (as I already have a green Alfa and one is enough ) but another one instead I at least want to have, as I said in my first post, a different color but with a combination that was offered at the time.

If someone has some other ideas/information I'll be glad to hear it. If black was the only option, I'll go for it, it should look nice at the end ...

Best regards,

I believe these cars were also available with a tan (honey colored) interior with red exterior. Try contacting the Automobilismo Storico Alfa Romeo, Centro Direzionale Viale Alfa Romeo, 20020 Arese (MI) Italy @ Alfa Romeo: a Brand at the cutting edge of design and technology. They have archives on all Alfas produced and should be able to answer your questions. They researched my GTV2000 and told me when it was produced, when it was sold and what the color combination was when manufactured, which confirmed that mine is original.

Thanks for your answer.
I have already contacted them and they told me that the original color is Dark Green and not the red one that it has now.
As it doesn't have the original interior and since I want to repaint it (after restoring her) in red I'm looking to find the right interior color for the red exterior.

Do you have maybe a picture (or know where to look for one) or a color sample of this tan interior?

Thanks again ...

This interior was redone, but the material from ReOriginals is exactly like the original.

Smile Color Combination - need advice

If I can figure out how to attach a photo, here's an example of a tan interior that, while maybe not original, I have seen on several Bertone GTVs. It is darker than GTV4EVR's example and I've mostly seen this on 68 and prior GTs although the one pictured is a GTV2000.

Not quite sure about the 69 Scalino. I always thought that Alfa Red cars only had black interiors. If you look at this thread 1967 GTV Restoration
you'll see that at least in 1972 for the smoothnose it was either grey cloth or black vinyl. I have seen earlier GT's with brown though, like in this thread:
1967 GTV Restoration Maybe Anthony can confirm whether this was the original color

Thanks to everybody for your help. I'll go with the black interior since everyone thinks it's an original combo (I tried to understand how to read the exterior/interior color chart on the forum but miserably failed ) but also because it's easier to find seats, door panels etc. in black than in some other colors (at least "around" my place )...

I'll post some photos when the restoration starts ...

Best regards,

I think you've made a sensible choice. Your comment about black being more easily sourced is correct in my experience. Good luck with your restoration.
