GTV Backseat Retainer

Does anyone have a source or a solution for the two brackets that attach to the floor in the back to hold the bottom of the back seat in place. Looks like a couple of aluminum(?) L brackets screwd into the floor.

Thanks

Hi,

Stainless steel not aluminium, but yep, just L brackets a bit rounded at the ends to make them look good.

Not sure what you mean by solution, are yours totally missing or bent out of shape?

If you don't mind it looking home made you could make a couple of L brackets from Aluminium angle thats about half an inch high. It only stops the seat from moving forward, nothing more.

I'm sure someone on here would have some lying around, I do myself but postage from Australia would be expensive. They shouldn't be hard to source locally.

Thanks Andrew. You would think they would be easy to come by, but I think they may be one of those odd things that turn out to be scarce. Somewhere in my car's evolution they were lost, or taken out and never reinstalled.

I'm still looking.

Its fairly easy to make these out of a strip of metal...possibly a strip from a stainless hose clamp cut and bent to shape, with a hole drilled in it.

I thought Bill was talking about the L-shaped brackets that go ath the front of the seat, made from polished stainless and about 14 inches long. You could make them from folded stainless, but they have a pattern pressed into them and look pretty nice. I'm thinking you must be talking about something else, or I'm wrong about what part he's looking for. Is there another retainer I'm missing?

Right, I'm looking for the "L" shaped stainless steel brackets that hold the bottome of the back seat in place. Now I'm wondering, what other piece(s) am I missing?

Thanks

Oh okay I was thinking of the little clips that hold the bottom of the seat back in place. Vertical part of seat.

Ah OK. I'm thinking I must not have those. One more thing to fab up when I put this thing back together.
