Went to the Retromobile classic car show in Paris this weekend, and my girlfriend bought me this

as an early valentines day present.
It's in french, which may not suit everyone, but for me it is more interesting than the Tipler book as it has more period photos of standard cars like the one in my garage; press shots, pics of the production line etc... and fewer pictures of GTAs on 3 wheels (great though they are), and racing stories which aren't all that relevent to my experience of the cars.
It's a hard back coffee table sized book, all in colour - definately worth buying in my view, even if you don't speak the language.
