GTV Headlight gaskets

Hello again from downunder

Starting to assemble my headlights and I wanted to clarify how the rubber 'gaskets' should go. On the high beam lights they appear to go between the backing bowl and the light unit, but it's not so obvious on the main lights, as there is no provision for the high adjuster as fitted to our RHD cars. Any suggestions as to how it should go? I did a search on the board, but couldn't find any reference to them and the parts manual is not clear on it.

Cheers

Andrew

Andrew,
Is this the bit you mean - my old ones (perished & thrown away) fitted around the main headlight reflector in the same manner as for the inner high beams. These new rubbers seem to have the cutout that you are talking about - permits access to the load adjust lever - as well as holes for static beam adjustment. The outer stainless steel ring fits over the top in the same manner as for the inner lights 'trapping' the splash guard, gasket or whatever it's called between the rim of the reflector and the outer ring. All up, it's not a great system, either that or I'm not fitting it correctly ...
Chris

PS: I can photograph it out of the packet if you wish.

Thanks Chris
The moulding I have doesn' seem to have the cutout, but I happen to have two sets (doubled up a purchase by accident), so I'll check the other ones to see what they are like. I agree that the fit seems rather 'approximate'...but I guess they provide some token weatherproofing.
