Found My 1973 Gtv2000 Restoration Project

I was searching for a 1972-1974 GTV 2000 for restoration.
I was very lucky I believe in what I have found. I now have a 1973 GTV 2000,original color Blue Olandese but the PO had it painted RED ,that had already begun being restored. Someone had a shop in ST.LOUIS start a total mechanical and body restoration with about 94,000 on the vehicle. After the shop had invested much money and the customer failed to pay, the shop got a mechanics lien on the car and the shop received title to the car. Now it was sold to LUCKY me. What was done and is being finished is exactly what I would have done to a restoration project myself.
The following has been done or in process of being completed.
Centerline High Performance Head shaved an additional 40 thousandth, 10.0 High Compression Pistons, High Performance Valves,10.5mm High Lift Cams. Redone transmission,Clutch, Rebuilt Drive Shaft, New Donuts, 65 Amp Alternator, Rebuilt Starter, Re tuned Spica system,New Fuel pump, Shankle Headers, Custom Free Flow Exhaust, New Brakes on all 4 sides, A/C with New Compressor,Dryer,Hoses.
All new Belts and Hoses, 2 Sets of Alloy Wheels, New Tires, New Fuel Tank, New Rubber all around, New Bushings, Ball Joints, Wilson & Dean Springs, Bilstein Shocks, Redone Radiator plus more.
It is missing :
Complete Interior, Carpeting, Front and Rear Bumpers, and Grille.
Now the car was originally Blue Olandese but the PO had it painted RED. It was done poorly. There is rust coming up around the Windshield and the paint is peeling in many places. Poor prep. I will take the car back to the original Blue color. There is the spare tire well that is totally rusted thru but a new piece is on order.
The person doing is Bob Volpe in ST.LOUIS. What a great straight up guy he is. He is very well known for his Alfa work, even owns a Callaway.
Here are some pictures. Now please look at the A/C set up is it Factory,Dealer, or Port installed. The A/C unit blows thru the two far vents and the center vent is fresh air.

Seeing the color of your car makes me believe that it is the correct color to do. Yes lots of work but everything but the interior is already sourced out. but that is the fun of a project like this.

Was this one recently on eBay? If so, I think you got a heck of a good base for a heck of a good car. I was in the chance before you wisely snatched it up.

I've got a couple of cars I'm parting out so if you are looking for something PM me. I've got quite a bit of interior stuff - some good, some so-so.

As far as I can tell, factory AC wasn't available till '74 and it looks a bit different from yours. I've posted some pics of the pieces in a previous GTV AC thread a couple months ago. Good luck with the project!

Well moving along with the project. I decided once I found a highly recomended body man (who does work for many Alfa Club members) in St. Louis to have all the work done there. Also Bob and I have decided to turbo charge the GTV. Trying to get around 225hp from the car. Will keep posted. Also I am trying to get this all done by the National Convention in mid June. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Will getting the car ready by June, or the 225hp be hard?
