colour identification
guys
the time is coming closer and my car is going in for body and paint. I have decided on a metallic gunmetal grey finish. I have attached an image from of an Alfa from the BB gallery at the Malibu California concourse of the color I want to base this on.
Does anyone now what this color is? ARxxx?

It's actually a non-metallic graphite grey. It was a catalogued Alfa color of the period. It was also catalogued for 105 cars. I've seen it on gtv's, spiders, and supers. Looked good on al of 'em!
You might want to buy a pint and spray a panel to see what it looks like for yourself. That's always better than trying to look at chips or photos.

grey gtv
There are some good photos of a non metallic grey GTV on Max's,
Alfaholics, website.
Look in the cars for sale section under road cars. It's a nice car.

Oops, I thought I`d replied FMD, sorry about that. I`ve always had good service from Turin Imports in Adelaide www.turinimports.com.au they have gone out of their way to help me in the past and are worth a call.

Is the GTA cam cover for sale? I have tried to contact you by PM but there appears to be another Giulia Veloce.

When I restored my '69 GT I looked at least at three different dashes, all were Sapele Mahogany-I design furntiure and millwork and specify mahogany all the time. The sapele has a particular grain that is easy to distinguish.
And one more thing-they didn't name it British racing green for nothing. My opinion is that Italian cars don't look good in that dark a green, also, it doesn't allow the subtle lines and bulges of the GTV to come out.

thx Alfa Two....
I am having my 1750 in for panel and paint this week end and will start taking some interesting photos....I have purchase an original 1750 engine and a 2000 105 engine....and will start rebuild of the 2litre for the car and place the complete 1750, restored and on the shelf.
I am looking to purchase high compression pistons (over bore) and trim them down to suit...my engineer recommended Sperry Valveworks in the US, but I have heard some bad press about his turn around times and I must admit I have emailed him for the last week and had no response and cant get a phone number either...
Anyway thats enough to start looking elsewhere, is there anyone out there that could recommend someone who can help me with these sort of performance products? I'm happy to deal with someone over seas as well......

Frank , as always get online and see what Richard at CLASSIC ALFA has to offer or ALFAHOLICS they have some good stuff if you want to go down that path. All I know is that I had great trouble getting new pistons and sleaves in this country at the particular time I was rebuilding my motor, eventually I found a set of Mondials in Adelaide. I want standard pistons, but that doesn't mean no one does performance goodies. Try Manning Motors in Sydney, Rob might be able to source you a set.
By the way, did you get your catalogues/manuals etc from Milan ? Did they send you a parts catalogue ?
