Seals for taillight lenses
I wrote a thread about a year ago regarding making GT taillight lens seals from hardware store -sourced weatherstripping. A search may turn it up. The original seals were made of a white foam rubber material - that suff turns to powder after a few decades. I doubted that new replacements would be available for a reasonable price, so I cut some generic insulation into strips, and stuck it into the grooves on my TL housings.

The second image shows the reverse of the lens as you can see typical melting of the fixture points...and therefore throw away unfortunately...unless there is a way to repair if anyone knows????

Hey FMD
Great thread.
Great discussions.
Just looked in my kitchen cupboards and found a series 1 1750 LH taillight assembly New,Carello, long reflector, with part number on the lens-12.367.717,and part number on the long lens-12.366.718.Other numbers-iIGM 5193 IP - MADE IN ITALY,etc.
Also found an ALTISSIMO LH lens-NEW, with numbers 25.8527 on the main lens, and on the long lens 22.0300.
Wow,also found an even earlier lens,CARELLO , 1964 era,New,LH,part number 12.461.717 SAE STD 62, with a reflector 12.562.718.
Oh,and another one,the same as above ,with no reflector.
All above items are NEW.
Just opened another kitchen cupboard and found a few Altissimo + Carello L+R backings second hand for series 1 -1750.and a few series 2.
I suppose i better sell all the above so wife will have more storage room in her kitchen cupboards.
Maybe I better not open any more kitchen cupboards?
If you dont have any luck finding any of the above, give me a call.
Robert

Hey again FMD
Opened another cupboard and found a pair of series 1 1750 outter headlamps, and a set of 1750 series 1 high beam headlamps.
Opened up another cupboard and found a 1750 series 1,LH front indicator assembly, the one that goes on top of the bumper.
Also found a pair of lenses only.
All above are new-genuine Alfa parts.
Any use for the above items ?
Maybe i better stop opening cupboards.
Robert

Hey Robert (or anyone!),
Any of these beauties littering a kitchen cupboard somewhere?
Carello or split-lens Altissimo with metal back would be just fine!
The photo shows the lenses on my car but I need another pair for another car ...
Alex.
p.s. sorry for butting into a thread like this!

Hey OZe,
Sorry,no such luck on a GTA.
Opened up another cupboard and found a rocker cover.A GTA rocker cover.
Magnesium alloy .
Half the weight of a standard rocker cover, with the Alfa Romeo script on the front-top.
Someone will have to show me how to put pics on here.
Have only opened 2 cupboards,20 more to open.
Robert

Hey Alex.
Opened up another cupboard and found a LH taillight lens,Series 2 1750,NOS,genuine Alfa, with part number 12.361.717,SAE STD 65,no reflector.
They look great when they are brand new.
All parts listed need a new home.
By the way, wife is not impressed with me standing on the kitchen sink etc.
Ill have to wait a while till she goes out before I open up some more cupboards.
Just found some NOS front indicator assemblies for series 2 1750 + 2l Berlina -Carello L+R.
Another box,105.64.12.051.02,Montreal cluch master cylinder ?,NOS,in an Alfa box?
Now I have upset the wife and she told me to go mow the lawn.Lucky There is no fuel.
