I think that the GTA rims are a bit too fussy for a GTV, but fits perfectly on a stepnose... Weird.
You should try to copy Per Einarssons design, with Saab rims... Looks perfect.

yeah,
I reckon those Saab rims looks sweet.
Does anyone know what Saab these are from, what year, what size etc etc. Are they still available new?
Are they 15's

I think the wheels off of the 87-93 900s and most, if not all, of the 9000s have 4 X 108 mm bolt pattern and can be used on our 105/115 cars.

I personally cant stand anything that does not look period on 105s. Anyone that puts 20" chrome bling wheels on a 105 should be be shot (after a good public humiliation)
My three favorites are: GTA wheels, Crommadora Daytonas and Borrani "Dials".
I had a set of Borrani Dials on my GTA replica, but for the life of me, I cant find any of my old car photos. They were a two piece cast ally wheel similar in appearance to the GTA wheels but a more elegant around the wheel nuts. Some Maseratis had them as an option, I think.
I only ever saw one or two other sets. Does anyone have a photo of them?

Clayton 105,
Id like to see the photos of those Borrani dials on your car.
I know what you mean about the holes on the GTA rims. They are raised around the edge and are rather chunky...probably for structural reasons.
One of the things I like about those Saab steel rims from Pers car is the simplicity of the design.

Is this the one you are talking about? I've seen something similar to this (pic below) on an early stepnose. This particular picture shows a 15" wheel found on Maserati Indy.

They are very, very close, but the holes in the ones on my 105 had round holes and the ribs running out inbetween the holes were not quite as prominent. I got them on a $1000 berlina (I would have paid that for the wheels alone!), and hung on to them for years until I built my dream car. I fitted B&W Alfa badges to the centres (as per Monty etc...). People used to think they were factory wheels because they looked so good.
The car now lives in Victoria (Australia) I think. Any Aussies know of it: Red 67 GTA replica with period Recaros, Brembos and T-S???

Keeping the thread going.... Here's the wheels both on and off my Alfa's. the four in front were just refinished by Woodies Wheel Works in Denver. Great guy and great work.. The wheels are old English Mag's. We media blasted the wheels, powdercoated the entire wheel in a semigloss black suitable for mag's, and then Woodie resurfaced the worn fronts .005".
I've had the same wheels on the 74 in the pic for 15 years, simply used my worn fingers and different grit paper to 800 grit, then a nice treatment of mag polish that I touch up every three years or so.. The new four will get a coat of a clear laquer spray reccomended by the wheel shop to keep the great shine.. The wheels are waiting for my 69 GTV 105 that is getting the body work and paint done south of border.
Pic doesn't quite show how very nice the wheels came out.. but close...

Perfection. Now if we could only be assured of getting decent high performance tires for 14'' rims. . . .

Now those are sweet. I would love a set of those for my car. I dont like the later ones, but those ones are the ones to have. As for 14" tires, try a set of Falken Azenis 195-60s. They will have all the grip you need for the street, and some racing as well.

My 71 came with panasports..I really like them...they look 'mechanical' . The only other wheel that I might consider is the GTA style for the same reason.
Alfas look 'athletic' compared to other cars so the 'shoes' they wear need to look purposeful.
If the wheels are too fancy it's kind of like working out at the at the gym in yer party shoes.
