ingram high performance spica pumps?

anyone out there with a 1750 outfitted with wes ingram's
performance street remapped spica injection pump & upgraded cams?
i'm interested to know how this affects the qualities of the engine.
my understanding is that i'd get a broader rev range, but that i might not
retain the low-end torque that my stock set has.

any wisdom out there?

thanks, john

John, the modified pump will not have value unless your engine has significant performance modifications. With really aggressive cams, oversize valves and good porting, the stock pump doesn't work well. Wes' modified pump will. I have one on my hot 2L street engine and am very happy with it. This engine has oversize intake valves, 12mm long duration intake cams and 10:1 pistons. With Wes' pump, it idles at an only slightly lumpy 700rpm, pulls strongly at low revs and pulls to 7000rpm.

You will gain the ability to take advantage of your mods at higher revs, and shouldn't lose anything at the lower end as a result of the pump changes. Of course the hot cams that caused you to get a modified pump will often hurt the lower end. But the pump itself won't.

Erik,
Are these custom cams, or C&B cams?

Best regards,

I guess you would call them semi-custom. On this particular head, Wes supplied the cams. I have the specs somewhere..... Then he matched the pump to the cams and ports.
