No worries Kai, Santo has like at least 8 sets of steel's laying around. Mine would've been free, but these should be super super cheap I assume.

cheap steel wheels

Hey there Kai,

Check this out...for AlfaBB members only, I will have steel wheels blowout sale at a whopping (or should that be WOPoing cuz I am Italian?) low price of $10 each. We are building another shop in our lot next door to the main shop and I need to get rid of all my stuff that is sitting back there.

This special is for AlfaBB members only! If you want the rims and are not a member, join the AlfaBB and then email me for some steel rims. Offer is for 14' wheels only, excludes 750, 101, and 105 15" wheels. We are gone racing the next few weekends for races but are open Monday - Friday from 8-6. First come, first served.

As for my 14x7 widening, I might just leave the car as is depending the cost of widening, I can't justify spending the money for widening when I could go get a new set of rims. So I will look for a set that has been widened already first.

LAPD Repelant

Working in Downtown LA ain't fun, especially when dealing with the cops there. Here in the San Fernando Valley, they leave you alone. Out there, well, it is another story. They look for every little reason to pull you over which leads me to today's project.

Having been pulled over for no front license plate on my Milano a few years back was no walk in the park. Since I had no plate, I had to go to DMV (1/2 hour drive) to get the plate and turn in my old one (1 hour line), then go to the station to have it checked (1/2 hour drive, 1/2 hour line), then waited in line to pay my fine (1 hour), then drove back to work. At the end I wasted half a day and payed for new plates and a fine.

Although it's not the most attractive thing to throw on an Alfa, I installed my front license plate today (LAPD repelant) so they have one less thing to bust me for. It was fairly easy to do so. All I needed was one license plate, two 10mm nuts and bolts as well as two lock washers, a 10mm wrench, and 10mm ratchet. I had the plate on the car in a matter of five minutes...it sure beats 4 hours of running all over the place, wasting gas, and most of all money.

If you have a front plate, throw it on the car unless you feel like you aren't giving the government enough money as it is.

I am throwing up a pic of the car with the front plate mounted. I am thinking of putting it upside down. CA state law says there needs to be a plate up front but it doesn't say which direction it has to face.

Re: cheap steel wheels

Outstanding Anthony! I'll take a set! I can not get up there during the week. Please let me know when you will be available on a weekend.

Whenever you call me, I'll be there.

My Spider had one rear blue plate. I was fortunate to have never been pulled over for that. I couldn't see putting a front plate on that sharp nose anyways. I always considered this 'offense' the equivalent of a small town sheriff citing a driver for a tail light that he had just busted.

I was actually only pulled over once in the Spider, for speeding. Oddly enough, as the officer was sitting in his car, an elderly woman pulled out of a driveway in a '91 Spider. She pulled up and asked if everything was okay. I was touched by her Alfa loyalty. I told her that us Alfa owners should be exempt from speed laws and she agreed. We had a good laugh and the cop just gave us a strange look.

I was stoked that my white GTV came with black plates. The DMV charged me $300 to keep them (long story) so I am proudly displaying my front plate. Since I have the Euro plate bracket in the rear, I am thinking of putting a German plate behind the CA plate. Why German plates? I was born there and my GTV was first sold there. It's like karma man.

i had her sold for some very good money, but on the way to the bank i was having problems...i could not part with her. so, it looks like i will get started on fixing her up this weekend.

yanking the motor and trans out of my 77 spider (now parts car), rebuild the head, install in the gt junior along with headers, magnaflow exhaust, 74 gtv front brakes, adjustable upper control arms, koni shocks, new springs, stock wheels widened to 7", 215/60-14 yokohamas, 20 gallon gta gas tank, LSD, sparco torino seats, remove bumpers, install roll bar, and who knows what else??? i'll try to keep pictures of the whole thing. after sitting infront of the shop all summer, it's finally gonna happen!

Los Angeles streets will never be the same once Lil'T is back!

Not a big fan of the GTC, but that one is beautiful. Any more photos Kai?

Alfa BB member "justcallmefred" restored that whole car from the ground up. It's a stunning car. I hear it now has a rare factory hard top as well.

Very nice!

I like the color too but must say that a friends Maroon GTV looks better. Actually the only Bertone I'd consider to own. Don't get me wrong, I like Bertones but that doesn't mean I'd like to own one...
I'm a transaxle guy.

If everything goes as planned I'll start a similar thread soon...
