Because, he wanted his Alfa. It is easy to be objective with yourself, but you are not the owner of that car! Of course your question is a good one to know his reasons for choosing one item over another!

Having been through the "build" on my Turbo Wagon, I appreciate the work done on the supercharged GTV. It looks sound(not to pun).

atuncay--is the scoop from a WRX?--what clutch are you using?

I appreciate the constructive comments from members who understand that these Alfa's aren't acquired for practical or investment reasons, yes, one could purchase most any new or vintage car for the investment in the GTV, but they would miss out on years of childish car fantasies anticipating the result, what is the worth of that I ask?

So that I don't come across as totaly clueless, over the last 30 or so years, I have always had multiple Alfa's in the staple (currently I have a perfectly restored '59 Sprint and a 164S in addition to the GTV - few vintage Ducatis and Vespas thrown in to keep them company). The GTV is no more than a fun toy.

The scoop itself is indeed from an early WRX, the hood was modified by Fabricante in Orange County, CA, generally known to be fine craftsmen in these matters.

Thank you again,
-ahmet

Mubezzi, Most people I know with GT3s can't wait to sell them. I won't touch one with a ten foot pole. Like a boat to most people, the best 2 days are when you buy it and then when you sell it. Not only did they get hammered when they sold, but daily use is a miserable experience for a street car. Very rough car for the normal person. Like i have said, I have seen ATUNCAYs' car. I'll take it anyday over a GT3. Besides, in the Capo Beach to Newport area, a GT3 is dime a dozen.

On childish, or juvenile, fantasies the Subaru could have built in a much shorter time, but one likes to look forward to each improvement in performance.

As we all know, the half-life of a performance increase is around six months, when another increase is needed.

Of course, performance increases include handling and braking as well as acceleration.

Right now the juvvie urge for more of the latter is building, and with the advent of warmer weather it will be a 1.5 bar chip and dialing the boost up to 17. Should be producing around 250 wheel torque.

--for around six months.
