71 GTV - just getting started

I bought this car a couple of years ago and am just now getting into some real progress. It has been sitting for about 15-20 years. Amazingly new fuel lines and and a brake fluid flush turned it into a spooky driver. The car tracked straight and shifted well enough. the front seats have been recovered at some point in the past. Other than than that, I am almost certain the car is all original.

I stripped the car down to its shell and it is now at a local metal shop for rust repair and paint prep. The shop is going to cut out some of the sections that we know need to be replaced before it goes to the media blasters in a week or two. Then I will really know what I am working with.

The rockers and floors are shot.... looking into sources for replacement panels.

It's against the rule of the AlfaBB to tell us stuff like this, without showing before, during and after pictures. You got any?

Hey! Just a shout-out to my fellow Audi+Alfa dual addict. I think the proper terms are Audi geek and Alfa nut job.

sure---- we are going to rework the rear connection by adding another attachment point at the bump stops. There needs to be more there than just the pivoting connection.

Update 2

Floors are out.. everything is continuing to come apart very nicely.

We are keeping out fingers crossed that the inner rocker can be salvaged.. the outer and middle are toast as well as the A&B pillar bases

This is another car in the guys shop... 356s are his specialty..
