I am painting the chassis the original color of AR342 (French Blue) and I have been contemplating white, gray or silver for striping. The white doesn't have to be 'white' per se as a slight tinting could make for an interesting contrast. I need to find a replacement hood as mine is 'waving back'; stiping requires a perfect surface...

So, is there going to be a 'GTV National Convention' sometime soon?

Okay gents! obviously your wife's are not schooling you on the importance of TRUE contrasting of design. If you strip a car, your best chance for a statement is one side metallic other side solid color. Yes, we've all seen the GTA's with the red and white, but were not talking traditions. We're talking colors that make statements.

Here a few cars I've owned/own or did for others.

Contrast statement:

another statement: by the way this was the meanist car I ever owned or built. 428cid, 525 h.p. 80% fiberglass panels!

I put the gold on this one to break up the lack of a statement. I know it's not a scheme for everyone, but this is my design.

And this is traditional, but not a statement. Nothing wrong with it, but it has no pop!

Akitaman,

Agreed. I think that the metalic/solid color is the way to go. No arguement here. Speaking of wives, my wife wanted me to go with light metallic blue with 2 solid white stripes (like a poster of Shelby Cobra that I have). But I prefer the metalic silver w/ the burgandy stripe like the picture that I posted.

You really can't go wrong either way. But you plan is better.

Don't sripe it. Stirpes look better on wide cars like Camaros and Mustangs.

Wink Stripes or Borranis

I'd take a set of borranis over stripes....

Shipping Cost

Repidodave,

My shipping cost was $1100 from Cincinnati in an open carrier. This was about the same using several companies for quotes. I am sure that costs have gone up recently due to gas prices.

Wide tires and wide stripes....too many options to consider.
