Hey 72GTV1750, I don't want this to sound like spam but yes, we will be doing all that is asked. Now with that said, some work is out sourced to people who are experts in there fields. I.e. interior, Alfa motor guru's and so on. Some customers want this because they don't want to damage there cars on assembly. But again I'm not trying to impose my business, I really do want to see what the value is to shipping to Poland.

I have seen that same - and very nice - car at OKP Munich, Germany http://www.okparts.net/
Where it was set to 25.000 Euro and sold within a month or so.
The wreck must have been a very very cheap buy before the resto, if
you consider that OKP are able to sell the car for 25.000,00 Euros and
still supposed to make a profit as a company.
I admit 25.000,00 Euros (almost same amount in dollars) is a lot of money - but not if you want the full resto as the pictures show.
All new body- and spare parts mounted on this car cost approx. the same in
Poland as anywhere else in the world.
The car was transported from an unknown place to Poland and back
to Munich adding costs as well.
So what you have to consider is, if there is money left at all for a thorough
job done by the polish craftsmen and a good paintjob.
Even if the Polish workers are cheap, I would be very interested in knowing
what was actually done on the bodywork and mechanical parts - with profit in mind!
As an example I could mention the sills.
I'm missing pictures on both RS-CC and OKP website, with evidence that the sills were done correctly - the two linings under the doors are not to be seen.
If the resto is done thoroughly these linings should be visible on even bad pictures.
Well, maybe I'm sounding too sceptic and I'm sure the car is all fine!
My scepticism may come from not so good sounding stories I have heard from unhappy people here in Denmark being axed by Polish "super duper workshops"
This may not be fair to all the decent companies in Eastern Europe, but I
would not dare to bring my 1750 to Poland - Ever!!
A person I know, bought a very cheap - let's say paid nothing for an
old Lancia.
He brought it to Poland for a resto, doing a follow-up on the phone.
Half a year later, he found something to be strange about the whole thing.
He went over and discovered that the car was gone - dissappeared!!
Paying nothing for the car, he didn't want to make further investigations
because he couldnt even pursuade the police in Poland to go into the matter!!
So my advice:
When dealing with Poland, make sure to be 300% convinced that you are in contact with a serious workshop.
Make sure to get all agreements down on paper and signed by the workshop.
Dont' accept requests for pre-payments!
Cross fingers that the job goes smoothly, because a lawsuit in Poland is not an easy task.
Give yourself some thoughts about that possible situation, where your car is stuck in Poland because of
disagreements - will you ever get it back?
But the Giallo GT surely is nice.
Still, I would exchange the seats to achieve a more original appearance.

Yeah Nimbus - I know what you mean. I guess we're all just chasing that 'incredible deal' where we get full resto for next to nothing. The reality probably is that you get what you pay for.
As my investigations have progressed I've heard a few horror stories about restoration in Poland. That's why forums like this are so useful to beginners like myself. Still, I'll do a little more investigation before I completely rule it out.
That yellow GT is nice though . . .

cost restoration in Poland
Just to clear situation about cost and quality of work in Poland:
how much you pay is what you get so paying 700 EUR for assembling is less than 50 hours you can't have 100% properly assembled car. It's 3 day work for 2 workers even the best one's will not solve electricity problems, hidden defaults test the car, check, correct defaults etc....so from one side profit and time and from other side happy client with concourse car expectations. Please remember you will not have entire car restoration:
disassembling, body work, paint, engine, gear box, diff, suspension, radiator, heater, all other parts, inox, chromes, interior...etc done in 31 days!!! 31 days it was time paid (2 workers)....that why I decided to change RS-CC.
All the best
Rafal
ps. RS-CC clients don't worry you will get yours cars back!...restored cars

The yellow is stil for sale by http://www.okparts.net/. I have seen it , as I am in the same situation with a 67 GTV that is in need for restoration. Its look astonish good and if this is the general standard for the works by RS, one can expect an awful amount for 10Euro pr working hour.
There is a reed one on the RS site, it has been up for sale by OK parts to, and when they send more cars to RS there must be some reality in the firm.

Well - fair is fair!
If you have seen the car on close distance and it is as beautiful as the
pictures show - the car must be a good choice.
However - did you notice if the sills were done correctly?
Funny that this car is still for sale it has been set as "verkauft" for half
a year or so now.
Why not go for this nice car and sell your own for a fair price then?
Doing that, you could avoid arranging the resto in Poland
However 25.000 Euro is a very deep grip into the wallet!

I was in contact with RS in the spring, he informed me about the OKP car, in May I was collecting some spare parts for our 2000 Touring Spider by OKP, and naturally I used the opportunity to look at the Yellow one. I have later been in contact with RS, where we agreed to use the Yellow OKP car as reference for the work that should be done on our GTV, if it shuld be done by RS.
I didn't knowledge any wrong things regarding the body, it was the work on the body that had my prime interest, and as I saw it , the work was nicely done.
The Interior was changed to look more sporting with unoriginal sporting seats, there was also something on the engine that was not original, and I expect that these things was done by order from the owner.
To my personal opinion, if I am going to pay 20.000+ Euro for an old Alfa I shall certainly be original.
I don't know if the car is sold, I looked into the OKP site prior to posting , and could se that the car was still on the site for sale.

I might be missing something. But has it been said as to what the cost to build a GTV is (avg)? I have to say, the work quality looks nice in the pictures. So, justifying the expense is only the owners concern. But if the build cost is 25,000 euros, then the work better be very good. If its 10,000 euros then this whole conversation is pointless, because the work appears a cut above standard.

The RS is charging 10-12 euro pr hour ,that is the general level of cost in Polen for these type of work.
It is up to one selves to make an evaluation on the time consuming for the job one want to be done. My impression is that it took about 1000 hours work to do the yellow car, guided info given in relation to a quote for restoration of my GTV. I think its a fair price. But one do always have an uncertainty prior to going to this type of agreement with an restoration done 2000 km away. So any positive references is always welcome, as I think we are some that would like to have an restoration done.

It may be cheap on labor but i think these guys will also be cheap on chosing quality materials for the resto.
