Talking Driver

Here are a few pics of my "driver"... I have forced myself to keep this one together and not become a long term project like my other cars. It's a 69 Junior with a 1750 that I bought in April. I just finished doing a bunch of upgrades and got it done in time for car week here on the Monterey Peninsula...and boy am I having a blast with it! I just did all the suspension using Alfaholics Fast Road suspension kit with the 2 1/4 small spring upgrade, Koni sports, and all the bushing upgrades. Plus new wheels (Alfaholics titanium GTA Corsa's), new Falken Azenis and of course the new Magnaflow stainless exhaust system from Simon. The car sounds great and handles awsome, I am amazed on how well the Alfaholics kit rides! I need to finish doing the GTA grill (need to cut out the lower vents), and once I paint the rear light plinthe, it will be mounted up. I have the door hoops and push buttons on the way, but I am going to wait a little while before I do the body and and paint on this one. It's a little ratty and has some rust, but that will get taken care of when the time is right. Enjoy.

That car is so cool.

Don't forget to fill in the extra holes for the original grill when you do the GTA grill conversion up front.

The car looks GREAT. I love the wheels.

Was the car at the Concourso event?

Thanks for the compliments!

No, I did not make it to the Concorso, but the car and I made it to the auctions and out to the track.

Yes, I will definitely fill the old grill openings...probably the same time I fill the old door handle holes in.

They are 195/60/14's, I really like the look of the Azenis.. they do not have the squared off low profile look of most modern tires, they have profile that looks more period correct (round edges).

I think the mirror is stock, I will look tomorrow and see if it says anything on it.

is that the a,b, or c fast road kit? looks like a real ant crusher.
Man that thing looks solid! about the best compliment I can think of for this type of ride. Love the rear arch covering up a few inches of the rubber! any mods to the rear arch?

Lets see...
I think the mirror is factory but not sure it has no markings.

The suspension kit is the "c" kit with the 2 1/4 springs. The car is TOO low in those pics, I could'nt even get it in or out of my garage without dragging. I just recieved today a new pair of the shallow spring pans and those will be going on soon. The rear wheel archs are stock, remember this is a late stepnose. I also just got my GTA door hardware today from Alfaholics and they look great, I having a hard time resisting jumping into the bodywork.

I don't know how I missed this thread, but your GT Jr. looks awesome! I'm in the process of building a '67 Sprint GT into a vintage racer, and sure like the wheels you have on your car - did they come from Alfaholics in that Satin color? Very nice!

Can you post a pic of the car sitting on the new shallow spring pans, like you mentioned?

Hey we should meet up sometime!!! I'm in Aptos, and recently went down to Carmel lots for the Bach festival, and the Historics week, of course. I still remember you beating me out to buying that red '69 in Half Moon Bay! How's that project coming along?
