I guess you could just cut down your shifter, which would reduce the length of the throw, but would require more effort to shift. I've seen period pics of GTZs with a presumably factory-done short shifter.
The way BMW, Porsche, and other short-shift kits work is to alter the leverage length, of the lever about and below the pivot point. On a 105/115 Alfa, the pivot point is inside the trans, at the top of the tower. On a BMW or Porsche, it's external, which makes it a lot easier to re-engineer. But in all cases, if you have shorter throw, you have higher force needed, which wears out the transmission faster.
There are also race-car remote shifters that move the shifter out of the transmission and back farther to a new point on the tunnel, close to the driver. But I don't know if there's an actual kit for that, or if each one is custom done. Not feasible for a typical daily driver, probably.
