The fitting process is a time consuming one. You have to square the rockers to the doors and the quarter panels to the door and rocker. It can drive you mad. With that said the front fender in now ready to be welded on!
Man this side is really starting to look like something!

Its very humbling to see that in the same time you have basically rebuilt a whole car I have managed to only buy/mount a new battery from my long list of to do's.

Now that's funny Simon. Keep in mind, once the inner rocker for the other side shows up I still have that to do. So this will give you time to catch up.

Daron & Michael,
The car looks great and I love the speed of progress. One thing I just noticed, however: As this is a '69 GTV, the front valance should have 2 slots (the upper ones) not 4. When you get to the nose, don't forget to fill in the lower holes. You most likely are aware of this already but I thought I'd point it out just in case.

You are correct Mike. Mubezzi and I talked about it, but yet to decide if were plugging them or leaving them. I kind of like them .

The fender still needs to be worked into shape, here and there. But the top near the windshield is welded in place. I wanted to take a second and mention the grey stuff you see over the weld. This is call "all-metal". It was originally designed to be used in the engine compartments at the fire wall. We soon learned that it is excellent for applying over welds. This stuff locks out moisture very well. I use it over every weld ( when possible). Ten years from now you can grind off the paint job and the weld will still look new.
No the door isn't out of alignment. I removed the strikers and its way past it's stop point.
I didn't get a lot done today because I was out look for a large shop to move this operation into. I just may have scored that place too!

Sprintgtc...good eye....here's the front end of my 69 GTV...even though I believe it suffered a front end collision and was replaced at some point in it's history...I believe the correct panel was refitted.

We were thinking of keeping the front valance as it is. It's a new body panel and in great shape. No need to fix something that isn't broken.

AKITAMAN...the support frame was already removed in that picture...it was only riveted in by the shop that repaired the front panel I'm guessing.

I guess you'll get a llittle bit more cooling to the radiator with the extra inlets. Other than that, it shouldn't be a problem.....unless you're looking to enter it a concourse one day perhaps?
