Couple of instrument questions

Once again thanks for all of the earlier cluster help. I've replaced my broken speedo cable, dead inst. bulbs, my hazard switch, and my temp and fuel senders. Only have a couple of remaining related issues.

1. What is the normal operation of the hazard button? Mine is off when the button is in, and flashes when out. That's opposite of the defogger button next to it which seems odd, and the Owner's Manual says to press it to turn it on. I hooked it up according to the wiring diagram in the manual. Could it be in error?

2. My coolant temp guage rests at about 140 when the car is off. and doesn't move much from there when the engine is fully warm. I believe the themostat is functioning ok, though I need to verify it. I've also replaced the temp sender and plan to rewire the spade plug which seems loose. Shouldn't the needle sit around 180 when warmed up?

Thanks,
Bill

1. Yes, normal op is for the emer flasher to operate when the button is out.

2. Check power to the gauge unit.

Thanks, that's a relief.
