Cleaning up gauges.

I just picked up boxes of parts for my GTV. I won't really start on the car until about September, but until then, I'd like to start doing small, random things. The first thing that came to my attention is that my gauges are kind of fogged up. What's a good way to clean them up? I noticed they had little tab things on the back, but I'm not sure if I should mess with them.

They're Veglia gauges that came standard with Alfas, but they're not original to the car. The car was first sold in Italy and came to the U.S. in the 70's, so it would have to have Italian gauges, these are U.S. gauges. I can post pictures if that helps at all.

I use knife and screw driver, carefully tap it open. Cleaning up nice but the trim ring is a bit bend in the back. But once installed you can't see all the mess , just nice shinny guage.

Good luck. Will post picture later.

While you're at it you might want to consider the lights in the gauges. The attached post also details some of the dismantling. This forum never fails to amaze me!
