Exclamation Discs

Does anyone know where I can buy four new break discs for a 1968 GT 1300 Junior? I can’t seem to find the front ones anywhere. Also does any one know if I can fit 1750-2000 discs in the front? I know that the diameter is bigger but I can take them to a machine shop to make them smaller. But then I don’t know about the spindle? I assume that they are bigger on the 1750-2000. Any help would be great!!

Thank you in advance,

Luigi

Since your car is '68, I assume that you have smaller ate system that has a rotor with wheel studs on it. Centerline Alfa lists front rotor for that particular system (BR103) for $56.00. If your car happens to be one of the first cars fitted with ate system, you might have a rotor that looks identical to dunlop rotor but smaller in diameter (I had them on my '67 GTV). Alfa Stop has pretty much anything when it comes to brake system on alfa, and they do carry dunlop rotor, but it has to be machined to decrease the diameter for very early ate system. And as you mentioned, another option would be to fit the system from 2000 series, but in order to do so, you will need a set of front spindle from 2000 gtv spider or berlina. They show up on ebay pretty often and are not expensive at all (unless you insist on getting a set of new ones).

Hope it helps,

border

luigi...you probably already know this but every time i bring something over the border to montreal...it costs me a fortune in gst/pst/duty/brokerage......you name it..they take it.

I brought some stuff in from centerline a while ago that cost so much that I had to put one of my kids up for sale on Ebay..

Some people get a box in Plattsburg I believe.

there's a good alfa parts place on the met east service road no?....can't remember the name.

good luck

When you buy from the US, specify you want it shipped via the post office. Duty on car parts is fairly small (1.5 to 5%) and they only charge $5.00 for brokerage. You do have to pay GST/PST. IAP won't ship via the USPS so I don't buy from them. Centerline does.
