dust boot
I'm rebuilding a 1750 GTV 71. At the point of putting together the engine and gerabox i saw that the dustboot for the yoke was missing on the gearbox. I tried to find that part in many store like IAP or centerline etc.. and nothing exist.
I would like to have one to put in that hole.I wonder if somebody else has this problem and what have you done to fix it.
I would like to thanks every body on that BB who take time to help

I'm not exactly sure which dust boot you mean. Is it the boot between the trans tunnel and the shifter? Can you post a pic of where it goes?

Well, duh! It makes sense now. Thanks, osso!
Andre,
If this is indeed the correct part, I should have an extra new one. Let me know and I'll toss it in the mail.

the dust boot i'm talking about goes outside the transmission (gearbox)around the yoke 105.48.12.098.00 in the picture of OSSODISEPPIA. usually every gearbox should have one to protect from dust, small rock to go in and damage the bearing or the clutch and pressure plate.it doesn't exist in the parts manuel so i thought that somebody have found a boot from others car that fit there.
i tried to post a jpeg but it say that i pass the limit of 2 mo.

I have never seen a boot that goes on the outside of the transmission. I've not seen any documentation, either. However, that doesn't mean the part doesn't exist. I have seen several undocumented parts.

Like osso, I've not seen a release fork (yoke) boot on any 105/115 series Alfa. And there's none listed in the parts book.

I would have thought that something like a smaller version of a gear-lever gaiter would work well, very loose-fitting around the fork and rivetted/screwed into place around the bell housing aperture. Maybe a steep-sided pyramid design made of four pieces sewn with nylon/heavy waxed thread etc, with the top 1/3 cut off to allow the fork to pass through. I would choose a piece of leather then soak it in hot leather balsam/beeswax etc first, since you don't want it to absorb water and rot away - unless someone can think of another durable but flexible material? Actually, I might try this idea myself!

my sons 69 when we pulled the engine last weekend had a large mud dauber (a kind of wasp that builds nests out of mud) in the bell housing, that would have made a mess of the clutch if we hadnt found it.

I agree; never seen a boot there on any car. Mechanical clutch 105 cars have a rubber thingy (usually torn or missing) where the clutch release arm comes through the tin clutch cover, but not the hydraulic clutch cars.
Which isn't to say you couldn't make something up. By I'm not sure it would do any good. There's more gunk inside the bellhousing trying to get out than outside trying to get in.
Beautiful trans in the picture.
