YES!! Oboyoboyoboy
Many thanks John!!!
And thanks to you too Kai for cleaning my sinuses; the root beer just came out my nose!
For those interested, it is the passenger seat that has the movable headrest, not the drivers seat; the seats in the ad are reversed. Looking at the pic of the front seats in the ad, does anyone know what the clues are that make the seats reversed and out of a LHD car?

I wont tell
papajam - since you revealed the RHD/LHD secret to me, I can scarely reveal it here and claim credit for knowing - either way, its sounds like you have decided to go with stock seats instead of the headrest ones you have?

I couldn't resist that one.
Clues: seat adjustment levers and knobs?

I agree with Kai.
I saw those seats on E-bay and noticed the same thing. The seat adjustments are on the wrong side for a LHD car.

Bonus points for both Kai and Garrett. Both the seat rail and seatback release levers should be on the outside and the recline knobs on the inside. Good eyes, guys!

Wellll....sort of. I'd like to ask the advice/opinions of the board members on what you would do if this were your car. As you know, I've gone to great lengths to try to return the majority of this 1968 Euro 1750 GTV back to original; correct hose clamps, proper diameter washers, bumpers, Carello headlights and lenses, etc.
What won't be original will be the reliability upgrades; headlight relays, separate foglight circuits, electric fuel pump (with toggle switch) used only to fill the carbs for a cold start. A major safety upgrade will be to convert the single circuit brakes to a tandem circuit using stock, period Alfa parts. OTOH, the suspensions been modified and I have yet to pick up the correct, matching numbers 1750 engine. The car will get a hi-po 2l in the meantime.
Now to the seats. The car had US version '69 GTV seats (see pic) when I bought it which are incorrect for the car. They have the DOT mandated headrests which IMO appear ummm... functional.
The plan was to find the original front seats and have those and the rear seats recovered. I've since purchased a correct rightside seat. Now a full set of correct (and very nice looking) seats appears on ebay.
So as I see it, the choices are;
1) buy the ebay set and just bolt 'em in.
2) buy just the correct material to recover my existing rear seats and use the '69 front seats (which were already recovered but in the wrong material, including red piping).
3) recover the rears, the correct rightside seat and the '69 leftside seat.
4) punt.
My dilemma is that I REALLY like the safety aspect of a drivers side headrest even though it's not stock.
So, what do y'all think?

Do what I wanna do
I still think that the best plan is taking the passenger seat out of a RHD car, and using that for the driver seat. Just keep the stock driver's seat around for shows if you feel so inclined. I dont suppose we'll find a UK seller offering a "bulk" discount for 2 RHD passenger seats?
It would also save the hassle of explaining the seat discrepancy to the uninitiated.

Great idea Jim! So I put in a bid for the seats and the bloody things go for 515 big ones! Way too much for the one seat that's needed. So the search continues for a lefthand seat out of a righhand drive car. The safety of the headrest prevails over originality.
BTW Jim, my first call call to England came up negative but we're on the list!
