GT 1600 Junior dashboard help required

I have just purchased a 1972 GT 1600 Junior and am trying to figure out what goes where on the dashboard.

Below is a pic of the dash as I got it, can someone tell me what is 'correct' and what's in the wrong place or missing?

Right off the bat, I think it's missing wood veneer around the gear stick, and on the cubby hole below the ashtray.

Are the meters in the right place? The car came with an a/c unit.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome Redd and congratulations on your purchase!

I'm certainly no GT Jr expert but the two original dash gauges were mounted on a bracket below the dash where the A/C unit is now. Heater and vent control levers were also under the dash. The console is from a 2000 GTV or a Series 4 Junior (your Series 3 did not come with a console).
Please click below for the dash layout of a LHD Series 3.
