I wonder if there's a delete option for that incredibly tacky battery box?
Still, a brave move. Well done guys.

Superbly done Max et al!

I would say an aweful lot Richard. I wonder how much you get for a wife on the second hand market
Anyone note that the car shown actually is a 1750 series 2 not a stepnose, and to be a little pedantic, since when when did Alfa make a non-stepnose GTA (the GTAM aside) ?
Bloody nice though and wouldnt we all love one. Will probably need to sell a lot more than the wife I think.

The car is very nice. But it's ugly...
It lost all the appeal of the glorious 1750 GTV and it isn't a stepnose either. It isn't a classic Alfa Giulia Bertone.
I would love to have one like that if:
It retained the original dash and console (with the original wood)
It retained the original grille and holes on the lower front valance
It reatained the original door handles
It didn't have the GTA rear license plate ilumination...
It was painted in "giallo ochra"...
If the car in question was a stepnose then all the details like the grille, door handles and lower holes made sense. If it's not why bother?... Keep it looking period.
regards!

Tacky battery box? What are you talking about? That is a gell battery and if it is an Odyssey (looks like it is), you can get it with a metal jacket like the one pictured.
I think the car looks fantastic! Being that they are "build to order", the buyer could have been the one that requested a series 2... obviously they will build what ever you want. You guys are a little harsh!

Greg, please don't misunderstand, I think pretty much all of us think that this superb, and I would think we are all likely to be in awe of what the Alfaholics team produces. From my perspective the quality of the combined restoration and refabrication to produce a modern interpretation (replica) of the GTA is incredible and I would be most happy to give Max a ph call and place an order right now, even if it was the middle of the night for them.
If you have a look at their site this is what you can do, they will build up a GTA rep to your specifications, whether either a stepnose or flushnose car. Trim, mechanical specs up to your choice and budget. How brilliant is that. The car being showed on this thread, as I have since learnt is actually a 2L but made to look like a 1750 series 2. It is obviously what the owner wanted.
I actually like the alacantra dash, leather seats, choice of steering wheels, and even don't mind the lack of wood on the dash and consol. The battery doesnt bother me, the only thing I am less enamoured with is the checker plate footrest, from a purely aesthetic point to me it is too bling with the rest of the bespoke quality interior. I know race cars use checker plate but I still reckon it looks naff. Perhaps if it had been painted black it might have been a little less obvious.
Anyway it is out of the question financially for me, but I guess there are some lucky buggers out there with the spare cash burning a hole in their pockets and wanting a GTA rep. Dave

LOL! Maybe I should just send my Ti to Max!
I have actually started collecting parts for the Ti, I was not planning on touching the until a few other projects were out of the way... but that did not happen.

Ben ditto, I have a '69 1750 in need of refurbishment, oh and Greg btw Max is also going to be building up a Ti Super Replica, just in case you are interested. Check out their website, as part 1 of the build (finding the car) is described. !!
